Samples are taken by appointment only. This allows us to adapt our care to:

The nature of analysis
The conditions to respect (fasting, time, protocol)
Your situation (child, personalized follow-up, etc.)

When booking your appointment, our team will inform you:

If you need to fast or follow a specific protocol
If a sample is necessary (urines, stools, etc.)
If you need to provide administrative documents
And, if necessary, set a suitable appointment date

We also welcome children: let us know beforehand so that we can make the best possible arrangements.

Day of analysis

To complete your medical record, please bring with you:

A medical prescription from your doctor or therapist
Your ID
Your health insurance card or a proof of insurance
A signed consent form (if you carry out genetic analysis) provided by your doctor
Further documents, if necessary (parent/guardian, medical decision…)

All information remains confidential and forms part of your personal medical file.

Before sampling

For some analyses, you need to be fasting. It means: no food or drinks (except water) for 8 hours before sampling. This is the case for cholesterol, triglycerides, creatinine or blood sugar levels for example.

Other analyses must be carried out at specific hours. This is particularly true for certain hormone dosages (cortisol, prolactin, etc.).

Finally, some samples follow a specific protocol. This may concern urine or stool samples, dynamic tests, or bacteriological analyses.

Our team will inform you of the instructions to follow depending on your situation. In case of doubt: it is better to fast.

A medicated patch may be put on children or sensitive persons (1 hour before), before blood sampling. It is available at pharmacies.

After sampling

Samples are carried out by a qualified team.
Then, they are analyzed in our laboratory, which are equipped with state-of-the-art automata.

Every result is approved by our biologists, in accordance with the strictest quality standards.

Most analyses are performed within the same day. Some more specialized tests may be sent to a partner laboratory.

Your results

If the analysis was prescribed by a doctor: the results are sent directly to the prescriber. You can request a copy.
If the analysis was done privately: the results will be sent to you according to the method you have chosen. In this case, advance payment is required (even for analyses that are covered by basic insurance).
Pregnancy tests: may be done without prescription. Results are available on site or by email (only to the person concerned).
HIV tests: this test must be prescribed by a doctor. For an anonymous test, specialized organization may guide you (e.g.: Groupe SIDA Genève, hospitals…).
Drug testing: only on medical request (especially for minors). We will guide you depending on your situation.

Billing

Most of biological analyses that are prescribed by your doctor are covered by basic health insurance. A medical quote can be requested from the laboratory in case of doubt.

For examinations that are not covered by the national health insurance system, you will have to pay for these yourself.
