check-up

PRICE:

PERIOD:

NATURE OF THE SAMPLE:
Blood sample

Laboratoire MGD - Bilan bien-être - Bilan SIBO

A check-up to explore the origin
of persistent digestive disorders

Bloating, abdominal pain, alternating diarrhea/constipation, fatigue…

What if these chronic symptoms were linked to a bacterial imbalance in the small intestine?

The SIBO check-up (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) enables to detect an abnormal growth of bacteria in this area, which is usually not heavily colonized, and consider appropriate treatment.

Who is it for?

  • You suffer from frequent digestive disorders (pain, gas, bloating, gastric reflux, frequent burps, alternating diarrhea/constipation),
  • You are diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome, without improvement,
  • You suspect a chronic inflammatory state,
  • You would like to understand the link between your digestion and systemic symptoms (skin, fatigue, mood…).

Why sould I choose
the SIBO check-up?

To better understand chronic digestive disorders

Bloating, pain, gastric reflux, diarrhea or constipation: these symptoms are often poorly explained and sometimes poorly treated

To refine a diagnosis, to guide treatment

If you have already explored irritable bowel syndrome, malabsorption, or intolerance, this can be another tool to inform clinical decisions

Support personalized follow-up based on reliable data

A clear result, sent to your doctor, to better target treatments and monitor evolution

Advantages of a SIBO check-up

  • Identify an often overlooked but common cause of digestive problems
  • Receive a simple, non-invasive test, to be done at home
  • Better target a treatment or prevention protocol with a healthcare professional
  • Access a unique screening solution in Romandy

What is the purpose of this check-up?

The SIBO check-up enables to measure the concentration of certain gas produced by bacteria in the small intestine, to evaluate a potential abnormal growth.

Analyzed markers:

  • Hydrogen (H₂)
Produced during sugar fermentation. An excess may indicate a bacterial proliferation with a predominance of fermentation
  • Methane (CH₄)
Associated with slow transit (constipation). High levels may indicate a specific form of SIBO

An interpretation with an expert is recommended. Our check-ups do not replace medical advice.

Three steps to
understand and take action

1.

Take the sample at home

Fasting, for 3 hours.
Follow the protocol, step by step, independently

2.

Analysis of exhaled breath, every 20 minutes

Hydrogen, methane: these are key indicators to understand what is going on in your small intestine

3.

Results interpretable by your doctor

A detailed analysis and a clear report to share with your healthcare professional

What the test can reveal:

  • A bacterial proliferation in the small intestine
  • An abnormal sugar fermentation
  • An approach to explore in cases of digestive disorders, chronic fatigue, or related conditions (rosacea, fibromyalgia, etc.)

What changes?

A simple and non-invasive screening, to support more precise and better tailored care for each patient
