The VagiScreen check-up

What are the signs of vaginal imbalances?

A vaginal microbiota imbalance may manifest through:

  • Itching or irritation
  • Abnormal vaginal discharge (color, texture, unusual odors)
  • Pain during or after sexual intercourse
  • Discomfort or pain during urination
  • Frequent urinary or vaginal infections

Certain imbalances may be asymptomatic but can lead to complications. A preventive test allows action to be taken before troublesome symptoms appear.

Why should I do this analysis?

The VagiScreen check-up enables to:

  • Detect and identify the cause of recurrent vaginal or urinary infections/inflammation
  • Adapt treatments for targeted and effective treatment
  • Reduce the risk of complications during pregnancy (premature birth, neonatal infections)
  • Better understand your vaginal microbiota and take preventive action

What is the VagiScreen check-up?

The vaginal flora is composed of millions of microorganisms, including lactobacilli, which naturally protect against infections by maintaining an acidic pH. An imbalance can lead to the proliferation of pathogenic germs and cause recurrent infections.

Factors contributing to imbalance include:

  • Inappropriate intimate hygiene (too aggressive or insufficient)
  • Taking antibiotics, which destroy good bacteria and affect the microbiota
  • Smoking, which alters the balance of the microbiota
  • Hormonal fluctuations (menopause, pregnancy, contraception)
  • Stress and fatigue, which impact the vaginal flora
